Logging Baby Feeds From Apple Watch: Breast Timer, Diapers, and Sleep
· 2 min read
With a baby in your arms, reaching for the phone, unlocking it, and finding the right screen is often one step too many. BabyTrack+ has an Apple Watch app, so you can log a feed, diaper, sleep, or solids meal from your wrist in a couple of taps. It needs watchOS 10 or later.
What you can log from the Watch
- Bottle feeds: set the amount with a stepper.
- Breastfeeds: pick a side and a duration, or start the breast timer. The timer starts on the side you finished last.
- Diapers: wet, dirty, or both.
- Sleep: log how long your baby slept.
- Solids: once solids are switched on for your baby, log a meal from recent or starter foods.
The Watch also lists the five most recent entries, so you can check what your partner logged without picking up the phone.
Complications on the watch face
BabyTrack+ has circular, corner, and inline complications that show the time since the last feed or diaper. A glance at your wrist answers "when did she last eat?" without opening anything.
Does the phone need to be open?
No. Entries logged on the Watch reach the phone app even when it is closed. If you use BabyTrack+ Plus with a co-parent, Watch entries sync to their phone too.
Widgets and Siri on iPhone
On iPhone with iOS 17 or later there are two more ways to log quickly:
- Home Screen widgets show the time since the last feed and diaper, and the quick-log widget has one button for each type you track.
- Lock Screen widgets show the last feed and last diaper.
- Siri Shortcuts can log a feed (bottle, breast, or solids, with an optional amount), a diaper, or a sleep. The entry is saved without opening the app.
Only see what you use
Each baby has a "What you log" setting. Turn off breastfeeding once you have stopped, or turn solids on when weaning starts, and the Watch, the widgets, and the add form update to match.
Android
BabyTrack+ is on Google Play too, with the same tracking, stats, growth charts, solids, and voice logging. The Watch app, widgets, and Siri are iPhone only for now.
